About Zoë

I originate from Southampton, now living in Fleet and I am a freelance musician and teacher of the Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute.

In 2004 I graduated from Surrey University with a 2:1 BMus(Hons) degree under the tuition of Peter Nichols. In 2005 I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Saxophone Performance at Trinity College of Music, where I studied with Melanie Henry and Gerard McChrystal.

I actively perform on Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone saxophones, B flat Clarinet, A Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Alto Flute and Piccolo.

In July 2003 I achieved a Guildhall Certificate in Performance with Honours on the Saxophone.

I currently perform with the Paul Sykes Big Band with whom I have had the opportunity to work with fantastic musicians such as Alan Barnes, Pete Long and Gordon Campbell. I also play in the saxophone quartet Sax Collective with whom I’ve travelled across the UK, most recently performing in the sell-out show at the Fringe Festival ‘The Joy of Sax’. I have also performed with the function bands; Soul Calibre, The Stylettes, Spitting Feathers, and Elite Syncopations. Read about the bands I am a part of.

I am also pursuing a solo-performing career and perform regularly in pit bands for various amateur musical productions and with backing tracks at weddings and corporate events. If you would be interested in hiring me for one of your events, please get in contact.

I have performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Rooms and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Centre, Isle of Wight Festival and have toured with Opera Della Luna and Hacienda Classical. I perform and teach a wide range of music from Classical, Jazz, Pop and Funk. My music has taken me on tour to America, China, France and Holland and have been lucky enough to make several appearances on television and radio.

I currently teach saxophone, flute and clarinet to students at Aldro, Lambrook and St Neots Independent Schools.
